General Informations

Context

This project is special because it’s part of an exercise consisting in the creation of a DLC of an existing game : Star Wars : Jedi Fallen Order. The goal was to create a new explorable planet that feated with the game identity : adventure and metroidvania. More than this planet, we had to create an exotic feature for the game, this feature must be unlocked and used on the planet. We have therefore proposed for this project: Plant growth. Linked to this power, we created a level on Taanab, an agricultural planet where it would be logical for this power to appear.

My Work

Scripting the exotic feature specific to our level, the AI and a part of 3Cs necessary to navigate in the level.

Main Features

Seed Power

Seed power is used to create plants that allow to access to other areas, plants can only spawn in specific areas and the player must collect seed by hitting seed spawners. The player must press the input, a seed is consumed, a line is drawn, at the impact point the plant spawns and the player must keep the input pressed to make the plant grow. The other use of the seed power is to activate plants already present on the wall, this action doesn’t consume seed and allows to the player to climb on the plant.

Wall Climbing

The player can climb on specific walls in the map, when the player presses the input, character hangs on the wall and can only move on this surface. When the character reaches the top of the wall, player can press the spacebar button to go over the wall.

Wall Running

In the same way than wall climbing, the player can run on specific walls, player has to jump and when the character is near the wall, character gets attached to it and goes straight forward. Player can cancel the wall run by pressing the space-bar button, the character will be is pushed in the opposite direction of the wall. When the character reaches end of the wall, wall run is automatically cancelled.
